Occasional Thoughts

I'm always thinking, and sometimes I'm even writing.

    the evolution of jimkastkeat.com

Over the past nine months I have made eight updates to jimkastkeat.com.  Some of them have been small updates, others have been complete overhauls.

Today I completed the latest update/overhaul.

Believe it or not, but it's been quite some time since I made any major changes to my homepage.  Up until today it has had the same layout and motif since October 14, 2009.  Check out this spiffy list for the complete jimkastkeat.com revision history:
    1. Launch Date: June 12, 2009
Features/Changes: insane "everything" list on the left, textured background
      Days since last revision: 0

    2. Launch Date: June 19, 2009
Features/Changes: debut of a tie, twitter status as footer, lots of information
      Days since last revision: 7

    3. Launch Date: June 27, 2009
Features/Changes: "everything" content at top, more whitespace, tie/name mouseover
      Days since last revision: 8

    4. Launch Date: October 14, 2009
Features/Changes: significant reduction, five links, extreme simplicity and whitespace
      Days since last revision: 109

    5. Launch Date: November 1, 2009
Features/Changes: updated images, more color on mouseover, added Whatever You Do
      Days since last revision:18

    6. Launch Date: November 6, 2009
Features/Changes: vertically centered content, added corner frames/links
      Days since last revision: 5

    7. Launch Date: November 15, 2009
Features/Changes: removed three corners, added Simply Creative, added email mouseover
      Days since last revision: 9

    8. Launch Date: March 6, 2010
Features/Changes: complete redesign, maintained simplicity/whitespace, added more content
      Days since last revision: 111
As you can see, this latest revision was long overdue.  One hundred days or so from now I'll probably outgrow this design and do another major overhaul.  But until then, check out this latest design.  What do you think of it?  Which design/layout is your favorite?
