There has always been and will always be "new media." Whether the words you read, the images you see, the ideas you experience come via a printed page or a pixelated screen, there was a time when this media was the "new" media.
There was a world before the iPad and Kindle and the iPhone and twitter and blogs and facebook. There was a world before Blue Ray and DVD and VHS and movie theaters. There was a time before newspapers and printed books and the option of hardcover or softcover.
All of this is/was "new media." And I believe that all of it will continue, never leaving anything behind entirely but rather perpetually transcending and including as we collectively move forward to the ever emerging world of "new media."
The end of publishing? Far from it. From a different perspective, it is an entirely new beginning.
